Masa Designs: Kumidashi Teacup

Designed by legendary chef Masayoshi Takayama, known as Masa, this stoneware cup was created as the perfect vessel for drinking a refreshing cup of hot green tea, which Chef Masa presents to his guests. Thrown by hand and glazed in small batches, each cup is one of a kind.

Following the seven principles of shibusa—simplicity, implicitness, modesty, naturalness, imperfection, everydayness, and silence—the Masa Designs collection is crafted to improve the aesthetics of everyday life. Markings and coloring may vary due to the unique nature of the production and firing processes.
