The Story
This book is one of the only two volumes of a catalogue raisonné of Cy Twombly’s works on paper, which was initiated by gallerist Yvon Lambert. Despite the project never being completed, this publication remains an important part of the literature on the artist. It features over two hundred illustrations as well as essays by Mikolt Kemény, Yvon Lambert, Philippe Piguet, and Philippe Sollers. This copy is inscribed by Twombly on the title page, “To Ford, in Italy, Cy, Roma, April 92.”—a note to Ford Beckman, a painter and friend of the artist.
