Andy Warhol: White Flowers Plate

Produced by Ligne Blanche Paris, this Limoges porcelain plate features a reproduction of Andy Warhol’s Flowers, an acrylic-and-silkscreen-ink painting from his 1964 series of the same name. Warhol’s iconic work is based on a shot of hibiscus blossoms by Patricia Caulfield published in the June 1964 issue of Modern Photography magazine. Warhol cropped, flattened, and distorted the image by running it repeatedly through a photostat machine, creating a bold, graphic effect that emphasizes the basic outlines of the flowers juxtaposed with the blades of grass.
